T.I. – F*ck Da City Up [Discussion]

With Tip’s new tape set to impact the net at 12AM EST, I figured we could get a discussion going on. Based off the trailers, what do y’all expect from it? I personally can’t wait to hear the title track and that ish with Dre. Both sounded nuts..

T.I. – F*ck Da City Up f. Young Jeezy

While we wait for his new mixtape to drop later tonight, here goes the title track with Jeezy. Yeah, now this is what I would expect from Tip and Jeezy. Not thatF.A.M.E. madness.

A$AP Rocky Premieres New Track In Miami (Video)

On Thursday December 29th, A$AP Rocky headlined his first concert in Miami at Grand Central, brought to you by WRLD Ent. From the minute the Harlem emcee touched the stage the crowd was full of energy, reciting songs off his critically acclaimed mixtape LIVE.LOVE.A$AP. word for word. Accompanied by his A$AP Mob, it was pretty clear that they have established a solid fan base in South Florida to which even I was surprised. Getting such a great response, A$AP Rocky decided to premiere a new track he recorded in Miami towards the end of his performance. I’m not sure 100% what the track was titled but I can say that it was indeed dope. You’d probably be able to agree more if the bass wasn’t so loud but hey, it’s a concert. Rocky ended the show with a performance of fan favorite “Peso” and probably his third or fourth stage dive of the night. From Harlem to Miami, A$AP Rocky proved he’s a force to be reckoned with and he’s not stopping any time soon. – Ashley
You really can’t “hear” the new track (there’s way too much bass in the video), but it’s the energy of “Peso” I wanted to showcase. I played the song at my gig last night in Manhattan and it damn near caused a riot.
You can catch another view of that show down bottom, courtesy of 93trilinfinity

Maino – Cream (rmx) f. T.I. & Meek Mill

Despite the slow day, T.I. has managed to keep his name ringing quite well eh? Anyways, him and Meek join Maino on the official remix. Bombs by Flex for now.

T.I. & Young Jeezy in the Studio (Video)

On the third trailer for Fuck Da City Up, Jeezy and Tip hit the studio and preview the title track. And from the sounds of it, another banger is to be expected.

T.I. – F#ck Da City Up (Artwork)

So, a horrible font choice/placement on a random illustration from ‘07 is what Tip is going with for the official cover art to his upcoming mixtape? Yeah… atleast the music is sounding fresh. And that’s all that really matters.

50 Cent – Nah Nah Nah f. Tony Yayo (Official Video)

On a not-so-coincidental coincidence, I’m currently bumping Danny Brown’s “The Nana Song” while making this post. I wonder how many folks noticed that was Curtis walking past them during this video…

Freddie Gibbs – Cold Day In Hell (Lyric Book)

Ahh, now this is quite cool. Although the effort put into the actual design is lacking, Gangsta Gibbs still offers up liner notes a .pdf with the lyrics from his latest offering. Shouts to TSS on the heads up.

T.I. On Working w/ Dr. Dre (Video)

Tip talks with MTV about his recent recording session with Dre.
Dre was here. He sent for me over to the spot. We really just turned up more than anything else. It was about creating chemistry. He got hot beats and I got dope rhymes, so we can always get together and make music. But for people to feel what we’re sayin’ and for it to sound like a party comin’ through your speakers, you gonna have to create some chemistry. So that’s what we spent more time doin’ than anything else; developing that chemistry.
After hearing the snippet on the latest trailer, I definitely say the chemistry is there. I can’t wait to hear the full thing.

Nas Speaks On It Was Written

My favorite song from the album, “I Gave You Power”

Remember when Nas’ second album was skewered by some diehard Illmatic fans (Jay-Z included)? Turns out that it’s actually one of his better projects since his debut (no, seriously). Speaking to XXL, Nas reflects on his now 15-year-old sophomore project…
You worked with Dr. Dre in the middle of the East Coast/West Coast feud. What was the response on the East Coast?
It was unbelievable ‘cause Dre had The Chronic, he hadDoggystyle. And really that was it. So it was unbelievable. It was crazy.
Do you feel like the Lauryn Hill has gained even more value over the years considering she doesn’t work with rappers anymore?
Yeah, yeah. That’s one of the reasons. All records gain value through the years, but definitely that. Lauryn’s one of those. True to the core at this shit. Everything about her, from her performance… she’s last of a dying breed.

Pill Opens Up About Label Issues With MMG

After dismissing rumors of him being dropped by MMG, Pill took to Twitter to air his grievances about the lack of support from his label.
No TV and No Radio.. U do the math. I bet u can name you favorite artist and the turn on the tv and see the video and hear it on the radio. It’s not rocket science. Radio and TV b4 I had a deal, none after and u ask why Pill ain’t blew all the way up. Artist sign deals, label doesnt do shit for them or don’t even know to work the artist. time wasted. Ask Wiz Khalifa what Warner Bros did for him. I’ll wait.. dropped em. Atlantic signed em put em on TV and Radio and he sky rocketed. Mind you, whn I signed I had one of the biggest records in 09′ “Trap Goin Ham” never touched TV never touched radio. Now go back and do your research and see what unsigned artist was neck n neck with Drake’s So Far Gone in 09′ Pill 4180: The Prescription. If I remember tht list correctly. It was Nicki Minaj, Drake, Pill, Wayne, Jeezy. Nw what the hell ws a new cumber like me doin on that list? Because IM DOPE!! That’s why, u ain’t gotta believe it but I know it and won’t ever stop until I get that spot I deserve. Peace. Thanx. Top 10 freshman cover of the New Times, unsigned hype MTV fire starter cover Creative Loafing, German magazine’s, French radio, Jimmy kimmel. Did a movie with Evan Ross and Brittany Snow, Had a documentary air at the UN summit in Geneva, Switzerland, Mark Ronson’s album, toured. in London, countless shows in the states, Short Films, etc. and that with No TV or Radio. Now imagine some push and TV and radio would do.
Ok den!

Big Sean Says G.O.O.D. Music Album is Almost Done (Video)

While on set of Wale’s Slight Work in Cali, Big Sean gives MTV an update on the G.O.O.D. Music album. Saying we should expect it by Spring (with his Sophomore LP to follow).

Mac Miller Speaks On His 2011 (Video)

Sitting down with MTV Little Mac summarizes his 2011, which culminated in his independent debut album reaching No. 1 on the Billboard charts…
“The whole album coming out was probably the #1 highlight,” Mac told MTV News of his independently released Blue Slide Park. “I remember putting out the album and being really curious about what critics had to say about it because I felt like I made this album from the heart and it was by far my best work.”
Unfortunately for Mac, the album reviews did not satisfy his expectations. To him, it seemed that the critics just didn’t get it, and he began doubting whether or not he put out the right album. That was until his fans reassured him that he made the right move.
“All people of all different ages everywhere coming up to me and genuinely telling me how much they like the album,” Mac recalled. “That’s definitely the highlight, seeing this music that I’ve created and just seeing how much more powerful people are than publications. That’s who I make music for.”

Debate: 2011’s Most Entertaining Beefs (Video)

The views expressed in the video above do not represent 2DBZ in any way.

I forgot about some of these doofy-ass riffs. If I had to pick, however, I would definitely say the Ray-J/Fabolous fiasco was my personal highlight. There were more quotables in Willie Norwood’s interview alone than all of the other beefs combined.

Drake Does Karaoke (Video)

With some random chick “playing” the part of Rihanna, Drake jumped into a karaoke session to perform “What’s My Name.” Props to Karen.

Kim Kardashian Cashes In $600,000 To Host A New Years Eve Party In Las Vegas!

Must be nice…
Poor Kim Kardashian! She actually has to work (AGAIN) on New Years Eve.
If you call getting your hair and makeup done, hopping in a limo, walking a red carpet, nibbling on free food, drinking free bubbly and wearing a free designer dress at a New Year’s Bash at Tao in Vegas actually ‘working.’
Most people would call that ‘partying’ but in Kim Kardashian’s world, parties are big business and always have been.
The size of her “Tao Party Girl” paycheck is a reported $600,000. But that includes a multi-event deal. No word on how many of these glitzy affairs the poor girl will have to attend. We do, however, wonder who her New Year’s Eve date will be now that her soon-to-be-ex-hubby Kris Humphries is permanently off her ‘plus one’ list.
BTW, she also worked NYE at Tao in the Venetian last year (see the promo above) and advertised the appearance with a link on where to buy $200 tickets on her website. She wrote: ” New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite nights of the year. Time to celebrate everything you’ve achieved in the past year and look forward to everything to come in the new year. This New Year’s Eve I’ll be celebrating at Tao in Las Vegas. I can’t wait!!!

Brazilian Model/Porn Star Busted By Cops After Finding 5.5 Pounds Of Cocaine Inside Her Butt And Breast Implants!!

Coke, it does a body good…SMH
A stunning model proved to be more than meets the eye after she was arrested by Italian police trying to smuggle more than £250,000 of cocaine into the country inside breast and buttock implants.
The 33-year-old woman, identified only by the initials MFM, was held by officers as she tried to distract them with her plunging neckline and tight-fitting outfit at Rome’s Fiumicino airport.
But her plan backfired as they were so captivated by her looks they pulled her over for questioning and discovered the drugs when she failed to explain why she had been to South America.
The woman had flown to Rome from Sao Paolo in Brazil and a search by female officers revealed the fake breast and buttock implants she was wearing had also been used to hide 5.5lbs of cocaine.
Police said the class A drug was destined for the Italian market around Rome and the seizure came just days after £1million of cocaine was found hidden in the wheel arches of a truck that had arrived on a ferry from Spain.

JAY-Z TRYING TO TRIP A REFEREE’ IN HIS AIR YEEZY 2S

Already surpassing their owner’s 0-82 expectations, the 1-win Nets played second fiddle to a courtside Jay-Z and his Nike Air Yeezy 2s. Much like little bro at the VMAs, Jay went with a denim on denim look, electing dark washes and the Black/Pink pair. Celebrity Sneaker Stalker readers may recall The Throne tandemsporting these as team shoes during their last tour stops.

Cory Gunz – YMCMB MMG f. Meek Mill (Video)

Directed by John Colombo.

Six months after dropping the song, Cory and Meek let loose the official video. I still don’t fully understand the title though. I mean I get it… they’re reppin’ their squads. But you’d think with such a bold title each group would have more than the “backseat muthafuckas” handling the rhyming? No Wayne? No Ross? Hell… no Drake or Nicki Minaj? Shit, atleast get them in the video. Dah well… the song is dope regardless.

Big Sean On Ludacris, Drake/Common, New Mixtape

Big Sean recently called into Shade45 w/ DJ Whoo Kid to discuss his upcoming plans, Luda’s diss record (quote below), the Drake/Common situation and more.
For me, I’m from Detroit. So when it’s real beef, beef ain’t safe where I’m from. It’s real dangerous. I never really considered it no type of beef. I really looked at it as free promotion for me. Especially from something I said over a year ago. I ain’t know that people hung onto to what other men say that much. If somebody says something bad about me, I’m like oh well. But the fact that it was a year later and he’s still hanging onto it… But you know, it’s all love. I ain’t got nothing against dude at all, for real. I hope he has a great year for real.
