A World Obsessed With Money For All The Wrong Reasons

Never in the history of mankind has the world been as obsessed with money as it is now. Let’s face it, we have all become savages chasing the same exact piece of cheese, seemingly because we were programmed to do so. We will do anything to get it, such as screwing over people we care about to sacrificing our own health or life for that matter.

What makes this mentality so disgraceful is the fact that most of the people looking to attain wealth and power are not at all willing to put in all the hard work that would deem them worthy of such rewards, simply looking for a quick and easy score instead.

Society has raised us to love money. It controls the progress of our lives and signifies the changes we need to make to live comfortably. Now, we’re not here to tell you that money is a bad thing and sound like a school teacher who doesn’t make much during the course of the year. It’s the level of obsession that is so debilitating to our world, not the very nature or substance of it.

A lot of people actually think that money can solve all your problems because, after all, how can anything bother you if you are living quietly on your own private island? Let us be the first to tell you that making a lot of money is only the beginning of your problems, buddy. As the late and great Biggie said it: “more money, more problems.” Too bad we’re all so obsessed with money that we can’t even divert our minds to a different perspective to truly grasp what Smalls meant with this phrase.

What many don’t realize is that you are the solution to all your problems, so stop pointing the finger, blaming your struggles on different people and events, wishing you only had more money to solve everything. Our world has forgotten how to be solution-driven, instead choosing to find reasons to complain about our dissatisfaction and dissect the problem to see what has been done wrong.

Here is a solution for you: if you have a problem with the direction your life is going, it’s time to get off your ass, stop being lazy and figure out the most logical way you are going to avoid further inconvenience without crossing your fingers to win the half a billion dollar lottery jackpot. It’s not going to happen, so just stop trying.

Last week we saw this country go into a frenzy over a $580 million dollar lottery jackpot. As a result,  way too many people have bought lottery tickets in hopes of winning a similar prize. It seems that nobody wants to work hard for their money anymore.

They are just waiting for the quickest and easiest way to score cash, the big break that will somehow fall into their laps if they express just how truly desperate for success they are. What they don’t realize is that they will never get that quick score and if they figure out a scam to do so, fast money comes just as fast as it goes.

The wealthiest people in this world are not the ones that got rich fast, found quick schemes and ripped people off. They are the ones that decided to have some courage to put it all on the line and sacrifice all the comfort in their lives for their dream, refusing to quit until they got what they wanted.

They were able to follow their passion to greatness because they dreamed of changing the world, not money or having a lavish lifestyle. They didn’t contemplate how much money they were going to make and how fast they would spend it on yachts, planes and fast cars. They thought about what it would take to get these things and how they could utilize their ideas and work ethic to do so.

If you love money, you need to love hard work and passion a lot more. Why do you think so many people end up with average jobs living average lives? The dream of being wealthy is only given to those who earn it by becoming worthy of such extravagance, replacing the priority of money with the desire to have a positive impact on the world around them and make a name for themselves in the process.

How many times have you seen lottery winners go broke? How about athletes who have made more than 100 million in their careers? It happens to the best of them and that is because all they cared was about the money and not what they were doing to maintain it and adjust to the new lifestyle it brought them.

Money will not end all of your problems. There is nothing wrong with choosing money as a goal and using it to motivate your desire to work hard, but it’s still important to understand that being successful is not measured by how much you have in your bank account.

The money will come if you do what you love and you follow your dream. When you make decisions solely based on the chances to get rich is when you will ultimately fail because your intentions revolve around something that won’t mean much if it is not earned valiantly and honestly.
