As everyone in America already knows, the Powerball lottery just hit for $580 million dollars last night. That is more than half a billion dollars. What this drawing did was send the country into a frenzy. Everyone in the U.S. decided to run out and spend their hard earned money on lottery tickets to maybe receive the grandest handout to ever be proposed to humanity.
Everyone thinks it’s so easy to get that grand prize, to make all that money. Everyone is looking for a shortcut to get it the fastest without having to work for it. And everyone is looking to attain true wealth without having to put in the hard work and long hours. It is safe to say everyone in our current society has become so lazy and has so little work ethic that they are just going by life waiting for a handout to fall out of the sky to solve all their problems.
Well, let us be the first to tell you that most of society is filled with lazy worthless peasants that don’t ever amount to anything, but rather just sit there criticizing and hating the ones that actually manage to do something with their life. I read an interesting quote the other day that went along the lines of Mitt Romney losing because he promised jobs to a country that didn’t want to work.
Not to get all political here, and of course that is not the sole reason he lost, but in retrospect when you think about it our country has lost the concept of hard work and putting in the sweat for a good living. We are thought to have become lazy and hope that the government will take care of all our problems.
What happened to good old fashioned working towards the lifestyle you want and getting it through the obstacles of the journey , until you make it to the top of your respective industry? So many people think that life is so simple and that success is pure luck- well those people are idiots.
Everyone that has actually done something in their life didn’t sit around, do the bare minimum, and wait for a handout to drop out of the sky. Opportunities are taken not given and luck occurs when hard work meets opportunity.
Sadly enough this world and this country have become so lazy that it has become an epidemic. Even President Obama has called this country lazy when he said ”We have been a little lazy I think over the last couple of decades. We have kind of taken it for granted”. Too many people in today’s world feel like life has just happened to them versus feeling that they have any control over what is actually going on.
What many don’t realize is that they have become a wasted talent. They look around and point their finger at everything that is wrong around them and blame things and others for why they have never made anything out of their life. And they just sit around and play the lottery hoping one day they will win. Don’t expect handouts in this world because nothing comes without a price.
If you look at anyone that has any bit of success you will see that they actually put the hard work in and pushed those sleepless nights. Of course they had moments of doubt and worried if things were going to work out or not, but that did not hinder them from continuing to pursue their dreams. They kept going and got to their destination by working hard, establishing themselves as persons who made something out of their lives.
Life wasn’t created for us to watch as it happens. It was created for us to make something out of nothing. You need to look at yourself in the mirror and decide what type of person you are going to be moving forward. Are you going to be the type of person that actually strives for success and does something to attain it? Or the daydreamer that waits to hit the lottery?
This country was built on the concept of hard work and innovation. Now we live in a world where everyone is just expecting a handout from every possible angle they can get. People in our society need to wake up and realize nothing will ever be given to them and that the lottery is not going to be the one thing that solves all their problems.
If you want to live a better life then get off your ass and actually start working towards it. If you have dreams of having that sports car or owning an island, then get ready for a lot of sleepless nights and more stress then you have ever imagined possible.
Now of course this life is not for everyone and this is why most of you wont actually do anything, but instead sit still waiting for a hand out- but there will be a small sum of you that manage to wakeup and start making something out of nothing.
