Being a legend is something we all aspire to be, at least I would hope so. Being a legend is not just considering yourself a legend and being content with your life; it is mostly based on how the rest of the world perceives you.
If you think that it is difficult to achieve such a feat, then you are correct. Getting past peoples’ envy and hatred in order to be able to call yourself a legend is almost near impossible. That’s why we have so few of them.
Recently I witnessed someone call someone else a legend. This was coming from a man who he had never met or ever seen in his life. This man ran up almost shaking, stating the exact words: “You are a legend and I am honored to be in your presence”. To be handed a compliment of that nature with the utmost respect and admiration for what you have done in your lifetime is the ultimate achievement any man can ever aspire to receive.

It is worth more than any dollar amount you could put on it. Being a legend doesn’t solely consist of being good at something, being well known for a short period of time, or simply being famous or rich- there are many people out there like that.
It goes far beyond being successful, wealthy and any other one achievement. It means you have done something with your life that has changed the world, inspired many around you, and have done the impossible.
Your number one goal in life, when it is all set and done, is to be a legend. Because at the end of the day that is something no one can ever take away from you. When you die you can’t take your money with you or your huge yacht.
You can’t take all your toys or bank account numbers; the only thing that you can take with you is your legacy of being a legend. It is that simple. It is the grandest achievement and highest honor for any man, or woman for that matter. It means their story will be retold for generations to come and inspire millions of people in this world.
A legend is remembered for a long time after they are gone and admired by so many. If you want to be a legend you need to go against all odds, travel the road not less traveled, but never before traveled. You need to do the things that everyone believed to be impossible.
You need to work harder then you ever imagined you could and follow the dream so many may have attempted before you but failed. You need to change the world, the way people do things and the way people think. To be a legend is one of the hardest things to ever achieve.
The journey to attaining legacy is far from what any movie or book can depict. You need to want to influence the world and make your stamp on it as well. If you tell yourself you want to be a legend and have your story retold by generations ahead you need to establish your inner values.
A legend relies on several factors and traits: courage, will power, strength, wisdom, attitude towards life, hard work, passion and simply seeking a broader mind and a bigger mission. It is all about doing what no one thought you can do, the impossible.
It is about going against all odds and having a story that is interesting enough to possibly turn into a movie one day- like Steve Jobs’. Then you collect some more royalties.
If you are looking to be famous or to make a lot of money, then being a legend is not for you. It is beyond those materialistic ideals that so many people in society focus on. Being a legend has more value. Being someone worth remembering and being looked upon for inspiration and growth is worth more than that.
Being a legend starts with you first and then spreads. Make yourself a legend in your own eyes. Lift your courage, will power and passion. Fight for what you believe in and once you follow what you love the legacy for the legend will come into being.
Focus is everything, as is giving it all up for a greater cause beyond yourself. Legends are loved forever and are never forgotten. The simply question is? Will you be a legend? Or will you be the person who just re-tells the story. That is for you to decide.
Have the courage to make something out of your life and if you fail… try again. No one gets it on the first try, but I assure you those sleepless nights and moments of self-doubt will all be worth it once you reach the end of the road.
Life has many distractions that all peasants fall for- that’s why there aren’t many legends out there. Be above that and make something out of nothing. That is what life is all about.
In order to become a legend you need to find your purpose in life, then spend your whole life fighting for it. The more you believe in your purpose and the more you fight for it in a way that inspires those who want to fight for their goals as well, the closer you will be to becoming a legend.
People become legends when they do something extraordinary or when they create a life story that inspires others when they hear about it. The next move is yours…
