The 10 Things You Need To Be More Thankful For

It’s the holiday season once again. Time is, of course, flying by as always and many of us are still in shock that the holiday season has already crept up on us.

As usual, every Thanksgiving we all reflect on the things we are thankful for and why we are thankful for them. But being thankful for these things just one day or one weekend out of the year is not enough.

Life is precious and the fact that you are reading this right now means that you have something to be thankful for. You need to be grateful for everything you have and all your blessings all year around- not just on Thanksgiving. Here are the 10 things you need to be more thankful for all year around because if you’re not, you will only be watching as your life passes by.

10. Life.

Life is one of the biggest and grandest gifts we can ever be given. It is one of the most beautiful things to ever exist on planet earth and is the reason we are all here today. You need to be thankful for living an enjoyable life and for every experience that life brings you- both the good and the ugly.

Living and understanding that life is a gift will change the way that you look at EVERYTHING.

9. Laughter.

As the old saying goes: those who tend to laugh a lot tend to live longer. Laughter brings joy to life and allows you to take a break from your reality for those few seconds that you find something hysterical.

It’s fun and enriching both for yourself and others around you. Try to laugh more throughout your life and stop being so serious; your time here is limited!

8. Trust.

For you to be at peace with yourself you need to trust those around you. Trust gives us a peace of mind and lets us know that there are others there for us if we ever need them. It also manages to relieve a good amount of stress that you may be experiencing. Be thankful that you have people that you can trust.

7. Tears.

Tears and pain are a part of life. They are strong emotions that are impossible to run away from. In fact, it is healthy to feel these emotions in order to let go of things and to get them out of your system.

For a man, to be able to let his guard down and release the pain is nurturing and emotionally healthy. For a woman, having someone who will listen and hold her is a way she will feel safe and secure.

6. Sharing.

Life is about ups and downs- we all know that. But it is also about the experiences that we each have. Those are what shape our lives; having the ability to share those experiences with someone else is what makes life enjoyable. Life is sweeter when you share it, so don’t hold back. Whether it be with a lover, a good friend or someone very close to you. Share the experiences- it only makes the flashbacks better.

5. Serenity.

Serenity is the state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled: “an oasis of serenity”. When you have found peace with yourself and with your surroundings that is when you have the utmost serenity that you need to be thankful for. Do what you love and bring enjoyment to your life by actually living and existing in the moment rather than always worrying about something else.

4. Happiness.

As we all know happiness is something everyone wants to achieve, but is something you must find within yourself. Being down or angry all the time is only going to take life away from your years. Once you have found your true happy medium in life, stick with it- and if you are waking up every morning with a smile on your face than you have something to be thankful for.

3. Health.

One of the most important but over looked things in life is health. There are many out there who are not as fortunate as you when it comes to health and have to live very limited lives in comparison. Be grateful for the health that you have and the fact that it doesn’t hold you back from truly living. You need to realize how important good health truly is and what a blessing it is.

2. Faith.

As most humans out there will tell you, life is about having faith and believing in the higher power. Many have told me that their lives have changed ever since they started thanking God everyday for their blessings. Have the faith to get you past the tough moments in life and the faith to be grateful once things are set and done.

It makes living a lot easier when you know that there is a much more powerful hand in making all of this happen. You don’t need to have faith in any particular God, but have faith that life has purpose- that you are on this planet for a reason. Without any faith you are basically not living.

1.Friendship.

Having friends that you can turn to and having them there to enjoy your best moments in your life, but also help you through your tough ones, is something very special. As the years pass, having someone you can talk to is far more important than money, looks or sex. You are who your friends are and you should be thankful for those who surround you and make your life the great experience that it is.

Being thankful is a part of life not just a one day a year event while we all eat turkey and pass out from a food coma. Above are the 10 things you should always be thankful for.
